They are free to join and 100% scam free .You need to bid for projects but,do not bid for jobs you know you are not very good and at home with.It is due to how well you satisfy your client for the first time that you will be able to win their heart and receive more jobs from them.And while you are bidding for a particular project make sure you tell your client how good you are,your experience so far,if possible give sample of your work to him;if you have no sample don't worry make sure while others are bidding high,let your own bid price come down.

With the first site this is what to do;check for “The 50 Newest Projects” Look for a project you know you know better than every one out there and if you know you have no special skill i suggest you go for either date entry or copywriting jobs.Click on it and this will take you to the full description of the project ;then on“Place a Bid” and then enter the lowest price available for that project.
Why you need to enter the lowest i already mentioned above and again,you are here for the first time and competing with those rated high or with experience on the site.After this check the description page,look for an icon called "PM" just below the name of the creator of the Project (Private Message).You are to write a message to the creator of the project (do not include your contact information like e-mail or phone number it is against their rule your account will be terminated) and tell him how you will do the job perfectly for him.(you can go through some other people's PM those who have won previous projects or the project you also applied for ,see how or what they wrote to make them win the project learn from them).
If after your PM,their is a reply from the creator fine,it is likely you are given the job you must act fast and reply if you fail to act fast you might loose the job,it happened to me before i was some seconds late and the second person whose reply got to the project owner first got the job.

You can only bid for 15 projects on the first website but the moment you upgrade with just $12 you can bid for over 160 projects.As an ordinary member 5% commission will be deducted from you pay immediately a project is completed but,as an upgraded member your whole money is paid to you.(it now depends on you but become a free member first).
With the second site you will see so many opportunities but,they will deduct 5% from your pay.You can bid for as many projects as possible.
After bidding look for “Message Board” click on it write your message to project owner and send by clicking "Post Message".
For the third site, i have just joined via a very close friend who had been with them for a while so i can not say much about them yet. Just go and sign up they are also free of charge the only thing is that most of the jobs posted here are programming jobs.
